Philippine Astronomical Society, Inc. - Taurid Fireball - Right Framing and Right Timing This photo was taken earlier at 3:47 am by Paul Jacalan at Nueva Ecija. He was observing the Leonid Meteor Shower while taking photos of the night sky but this taurid fireball stole the show! (Disclaimer: Photo was cropped and enhanced according to the photographer.) Meteor shower activities often overlap because most of them last for several weeks. It's just that, most of the times, we only become aware of them when their peak activity is near. For example, even though the peak of Northern Taurids was around November 12 and the Leonid Meteor Shower's peak was last night, we can still see meteors from both showers until the end of November. Expect to see significantly less meteors several days before or after the peak, though. _______ How many meteors were you able to see last night? Share it with us in the comments section! Stay safe and keep looking up, PASers! Clear skies! Photo by: Paul Jacalan | Facebook
