This image shows astronaut Harrison Schmitt during Apollo 17 in 1972 at the Taurus–Littrow Valley. Schmitt was the only professional geologist to walk on the Moon.
The photograph was taken by mission commander Eugene Cernan, the last human to ever walk on the lunar surface.
