LET’S PRAY FOR JAPAN ![]()
At 12:57 a.m. on November 16, the Sakurajima volcano erupted from the Minamidake crater and sent a massive plume of ash more than 4,400 meters into the sky!
This is its highest eruption since October 2024 according to official reports.
At least three eruptions were recorded in the same window, coating nearby areas in ash as winds pushed debris toward Kagoshima, Kumamoto, and Miyazaki.
Dozens of flights at Kagoshima Airport were cancelled because of ashfall and poor visibility…
But, thankfully, authorities say no injuries or structural damages have been reported.
The volcanic alert level remains at 3, which keeps the public away from the mountain as experts track continuing activity.
Sakurajima is one of Japan’s most active volcanoes and has a long history of eruptions.
